Candle Care Guide

Caring for your Candle

Your first glow

The first burn sets the stage for your candle’s life. Allow it to melt evenly across the surface — usually about two hours — so the wax forms a smooth pool. This prevents tunnelling and teaches your candle to burn beautifully every time.

Snip for success

Before relighting, trim the wick to around ¼ inch (6mm). This tiny step makes a big impact: it reduces smoke, keeps the flame steady, and helps your candle last longer while giving you a cleaner, more even burn.

The ideal burn session

Enjoy your candle in stretches of up to four hours. This keeps the wax balanced, protects the vessel, and allows the fragrance to gently fill your space.

Extinguishing with care

When it’s time to put out the flame, use a snuffer or blow softly. Make sure the wick is upright and centred once cooled — ready for its next radiant moment.

Safety first, always

  • Place your Nood's candle on a sturdy, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from drafts, fabrics, and anything flammable.
  • Never leave a candle burning unattended.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • If burning more than one, leave at least 10cm between candles.

Keeping it fresh

Store your candle in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight. Natural waxes like soy are delicate — protecting them ensures the fragrance and appearance stay at their best.
